Congratulations, and great job getting this into the New York Times. I would add there is no need to “mourn” the demotion of Pluto because there is no need to accept that demotion at all. It was done prematurely, based on erroneous information about Eris, and based on a way too narrow definition of planet.
Unless, of course, the small object beyond Neptune is really shaped like a slice of pizza! That cannot be considered hydrostatic equilibrium!
